"Andrew Starykowicz is a machine on his bike. The American triathlete finished fourth in Wildflower Triathlon, held at Lake San Antonio on Saturday, following a superb performance on his Orbea Ordu.

Starykowicz was the fastest on the bike, completing 90km in 2:16:18, 2 minutes and 23 seconds faster than Jesse Thomas. However, Starykowicz could not hold off Andrew Thomas and super runners like Matthew Russell or Callum Millward, who cycled side-by-side with Thomas until kilometre 56. The three spots of the podium were filled by Thomas, Millward and Russell, and Starykowicz had to be content with fourth place.
Meanwhile, in Australia, Courtney Atkinson plunged into the crystal-clear water of Geographe Bay to compete in SunSmart Ironman 70.3 Busselton. Courtney came out of the water at the front and retained the lead ahead of the nine men who made the breakaway that formed in the flat bike leg through Tuart Forest. Unfortunately, after leaving his bike in T2, Courtney suffered from physical problems and was forced to leave. Australian Tim Van Berkel claimed victory in 3 hours, 43 minutes and 7 seconds.
